After a couple of cold weeks in the Bay Area, we spent an unexpectedly beautiful afternoon at the beach. I brought the Canon V1 because it’s compact, pocketable, and easy to carry for everyday shooting. I love pushing Dehancer Pro real hard sometimes. Strong halation, heavy grain, different aspect ratios. It’s not for everyone, but it creates a warm, dreamy film aesthetic that fits moments like this. There’s a lot of focus online about resolution, specs, and needing the best gear. For days like this, I’m not convinced shooting in 16K would make a meaningful difference. Sometimes the best camera is simply the one that’s small enough to bring with you.
